I agree you need start off slowly, pace yourself and don't over do it. Also it's real important you have a good pair of running shoes

It depends on the nature of the tattoo, you are not allowed to have swear words, nudity, obscene, gang signs or affiliations. They are evaluated on a case by case basis. If hired, a person with tattoos must ensure that the tattoos are not visible to the public while they are on duty.

You to rest, it needs time to heal. You can't rush back, if you start exercising before your shin splints have healed, you could hurt yourself permanently.
