I personally don't buy that story, it just doesn't make sense, how did he get a knife past customs and why wouldn't he just buy one in the UK? Of course you should always be careful but that's just a bad cautionary tale to make people afraid.

I think it is very unjust, it shouldn't be but we see too many cases of people being falsely accused and even incarcerated, only to be released years afterwards...

I think certainty would be very effective as well, the guaranteed $25 fine would be enough to make most people stop. Of course rich people could just pay it every day without even thinking about it, but in that case, only the severity of the other option would make them stop...

Wow, it's not everyday you read about a stabbing purely on principle, it can't have been about the $5, he was just mad at his friend being a lying cheat! Either that or the bet is just a flimsy excuse for a regular stabbing situation.

What a crazy situation, it's unacceptable that he was able to steal the car in the first place, but to taunt the police just shows how crazy the guy is.

Such a tragic story, even more so that he was found dead, war really is hell, and often that hell stays in our soldier's mind and make them do this sort of thing, there needs to be more psychological help for our veterans.
