It's very hard for me to feel any remorse for a sociopath child molester. I know the corrections department is supposed to make sure the inmates are free from danger, but this guy got what he deserved.

I don't know what the laws are like in Florida, but in some states the kid would be charged as an adult. The reason would stem more from the fact that he used a gun. Judges are getting tough about gun crimes no matter the age of the perpetrator.

Yes, I would have to say either this is phony, or the officer is not the sharpest shooter on the force. No police I have ever encountered would have let that situation off that easily. I guess some people stage these types of things to be able to continue fueling the fire for the supernatural.

This was a very idiotic officer who truly showed why he should not have the honor of wearing a badge. The psych exams must be outdated and needing an overhaul. I am happy the authorities caught up with this sick individual. It really upsets me when depraved people like this are allowed back in society. l am not sorry about how I feel. This man is a sociopath.

This is disturbing because I'm not sure if complete safety procedures were taken, or if 8 years old is just too young to be shooting a full automatic assault weapon. There are those who would side either way. Too bad the iinstructor lost his life.

This is definitely a situation that called for total lethal force. Imagine the havok this guy would have caused if he made it inside that courthouse. The deputy excelled and allowed his training to take over. I hope he has a speedy recovery.

Kudos to the officer for not immediately using lethal force. Amid all the problems with officers shooting unarmed civilians, this is much more of a positive ending. It also shows the effectiveness and need for non-lethal weapons. The cop made a life saving decision.

It's sad when an officer has to lose his life trying to save another person's life. These incidents are the sad reminders of how dangerous every moment on duty is for a cop. That's why we should not take police officers for granted and should appreciate them.

This is a shame. Being that this man was a retired police captain, he should have had much more restraint. Whatever anger he felt about the text phone argument, he should not have shot the man. This was not a life or death attack on him.
