What character traits are the academy looking for in new recruits. Obviously they want the best they can get but are there any particular things they look for?

I wonder how many have been in the military prior to becoming a cop? It would probably be good training for potential police work.

A lot would depend on what pressures the officer had to undergo. Everyone has a limit and many officers are under a lot of pressure at times. When dealing with the worse of society it must be hard to remain detached and not let it get to you.

I hate corrupt cops at the most. They should have more internal affairs investigation going on. Cops are supposed to protect and serve..

I know in california your good if you retire as a cop.. you get your pention and while your on the job alot of people give you free food and stuff for lunch. And you get to carry a badge and a gun. I say police got it made.

Hey I have one question though. What about if theres calls they could have been on to save sombodies life but instead there out there doing stuff like this? Wouldnt you think there would be 2 diffrent public opinions?

Would you show up to court most of the time? Or not?

There mostly security at casinos.

I was just at the airport last year and they check throughly and even stop everyother person. How in the world did the kid get past TSA. Im sure it wasnt at LAX cause those tsa people are brutal.

Police officers in portland look nice. LOL you should see the ones here in california. There mostly A holes sometimes.. No offense. Good job though.

It all depends. Cause if the officer doent show up to court your good the case gets thrown out. I probobly say half 50 percent fight it. But mostly likely if the officers there they wouldnt win.

Basically you said child. So the answer is none. Children shouldnt be left at home by themselves at all. Now if the where a teen I think that is fine since they are not a child anymore. So I would say 13.

Unfortunately there will always be bad cops as there are bad people in just about all walks of life. I do feel sorry for the good cops who get smeared with the same brush when they are doing the right thing and are only suffering because of the bad cops.

There are some new "cybercrime" units that have been set up. They are having some success but It seems they go mainly after the larger scammers and those who could be funding the terrorist groups. The smaller victims could tend to be last on the list.
