A Chicago police officer shot two suspects following a two-mile chase on the West Side, after the men allegedly fired shots at a police car.

Prosecutors say Grand Rapids officers were justified in shooting and killing an 18-year-old man during a gun battle earlier this month.

Gunfire was exchanged during an attempted traffic stop in Compton early this morning.

An 18-year-old was charged in connection with the shooting of two CPD officers last week in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

"Its been very, very tough," said Chief Harrison. "We have a young police department, a growing police department. A lot of our officers have never been exposed. In fact there's very few officers that have been exposed to something like this."

Police say they were conducting a routine traffic stop when they heard several gunshots. Police say they felt the gunfire was directed at them.

DeAngelo Davis, 31, has been charged.
