According to sources, the new Oakland Police Chief is Anne Kirkpatrick from the Chicago Police Department.
Kirkpatrick was the former Chief of Police for the City of Spokane, Washington. She was also appointed to lead organizational development for the Chicago Police Department.
Mayor Libby Schaaf plans to make the announcement Wednesday morning.
