Freight train explodes in Canadian town

A freight train carrying tankers of crude oil derailed at high speed and then exploded into a huge fireball in the center of a small Canadian town early on Saturday, shortly after 1 a.m.

"We're not sure what happened, but the engineer did everything by the book. He had parked the train and was waiting for his relief ... somehow, the train got released," said Montreal, Maine & Atlantic vice president of marketing Joseph R. McGonigle
