A deputy jailer in Hardin County, Kentucky, has been arrested and suspended after a fight with a sheriff's deputy.

Deputy Jailer Joe Funk was arrested after a dispute with Deputy Clennon Smith who was handing over inmate property, according to jail officials.

"It is very unfortunate that this incident occurred," officials stated. "Sometimes bad decisions and anger causes people to make the wrong choice."

The fight between the sheriff deputy and the deputy jailer in front of inmates was caught on camera. Funk and Smith got into a fight after Smith tried to hand property of an inmate over to Funk. Funk is accused of throwing the property back.

In the video you can see him move from around the booking gate, he then walks toward Smith and he threw his arms up in the air. The deputy then pushed Funk. The two men start fighting and several guards jumped in to stop them.

Funk was suspended with pay the next day. He is due in court later this week. He is facing charges of assault, menacing and resisting arrest. Deputy Sheriff Smith is still on the job.
