A 70-year-old man accused of robbing a bank in Kansas City, told authorities he that preferred to be imprisoned than live with his wife.

Lawrence John Ripple walked into the bank and handed a bank teller a note stating he had a gun and demanded money.

Ripple grabbed the money and went to take a seat in the lobby where he told the guard he was the "guy he was looking for." He was taken into custody and charged with bank robbery.

Authorities say the suspect and his wife recently had an argument. “Ripple wrote out his demand note in front of his wife, and told her he’d rather be in jail than at home,†an FBI agent stated in the affidavit.
