Reserve Officers

I just met a few Reserve Officers the other day, and they were are unarmed. I was suprised to find out their OC Spray is pretty much their weapon. No firearm but they have everything else. They assist police officers while out in the field on traffic stops and some calls. Are all Reserve Officers unarmed?

I think it varies from state to state. And it also depends if the Officer has gone through weapons training.
