Deputy Charles Patrick Foreman has been fired from the Sampson County Sheriff's Office after their investigation into comments Foreman allegedly wrote on social media after a stabbing and shooting at Lakewood Country Club over the weekend.

Someone wrote on Sampson Weekly's Facebook post about the incident, "They want be getting there deposit back." Foreman replied, "It don't matter, it was paid for on EBT." EBT stands for Electronic Bank Transfer. It provides food stamp benefits to recipients.

Many people who viewed Foreman's comments expressed their outrage and called for Foreman to turn in his badge.

"The Sheriff's Office is dependent upon the public trust to be effective in its mission. The men and women of the Sampson County Sheriff's Office work too hard to earn the trust and respect of the citizens. I do not condone or tolerate any behavior on the part of my employees that brings the integrity of the Sheriff's Office into question." stated Sheriff Jimmy Thornton.

Deputy Patrick Foreman, 45, served four years with the Sampson County Sheriff's Office.
