New York Officers are searching for an ex-convict after he carjacked a Hummer and nearly ran over two officers who tried to stop him on the Verrazano Bridge Monday morning.

The two officers reportedly fired four shots at the vehicle Tyrell Brown was driving. The incident happened a little after 1:00 a.m. Police had been notified the suspect had carjacked the vehicle the day before.

"NYPD told them to be on lookout for it, the driver may have been involved in an earlier homicide," a Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokesman said.

When police spotted Brown, they tried to apprehend him. A woman passenger in the Hummer jumped out and was taken into custody. The suspect then sped off.

"The driver gunned the accelerator and tried to hit the two cops, police said." They fired four shots total.

As the suspect drove off, he struck a car and went through a barrier. Police say he later abandoned the vehicle and ran off into the woods.

Police said the woman passenger was being questioned. They did not release her name.

More details in this story will be released as soon as they are made available.

Honestly... why don't people stop in these circumstances?? It was bad enough when they wanted him to stop but if he had rolled up officers he'd be in some serious problems. Helicopters and everything would be after along with an insane prison sentence. Why don't people realise when the game is over and they can't get out?

Most people that don't stop just mean that they have something to hide and they are desperate, they just don't realize they are making their situation worse.
