Two Week Old Baby Killed By 6 Year Old Brother

Police in Florida say a 13-day-old baby girl was killed by her 6-year-old brother. Authorities have charged their 62-year-old mother, Kathleen Marie Steele, with aggravated manslaughter and neglect.

The suspect left her 6-year-old son alone with the baby, and he beat her to death, said Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri.

“Those of us who have been doing this in this business for a very long time have never seen anything like this,†the sheriff said. “The best way I can describe it to you is he pummeled her,†said the sheriff. “He was tossing that baby around like a rag doll.â€

Officials say the 6-year-old boy will not be charged. He and his younger brother are currently in DCF custody. “It’s a very sad case to say the least,†Gualtieri said.
