Detective Steven McDonald

Detective Steven McDonald passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017.

McDonald, 59, died at a Long Island hospital after he suffering a heart attack.

McDonald was paralyzed after being shot three times in 1986 by a teenager stealing a bicycle. He had remained on the New York Police Department's payroll as a detective until his death.

Detective Steven McDonald is survived by his wife and son.
