Was there a different video before? Because I didn't see anyone die, nor was the officer ever visible in the video. Also, the suspect looked to be wearing a military combat uniform, I could be wrong, the video wasn't the greatest of quality but it appeared to be.

When addressing one I always say officer, if I say anything at all, but when referring to them I generally say "the cops", saying "the police officers" or just "the officers" just isn't as easy to get out, so I choose the shorter variant only when referring to them as a whole or a group.
