I think it would depend on whether the officer was alone, and if he was visibly armed. Most people would think twice about threatening a police officer if he had his weapon drawn or was with backup.
I think it's a no-brainer that the mother is not suited to raising children. Giving up custody should happen as soon as possible so that the children do not have to suffer any longer.
They might have been looking for a wanted criminal in the vicinity. Usually since there's no harm in cooperating and it won't take much of my time I just comply with their requests. I usually am allowed to get on with whatever I was doing after a couple of minutes.
Was this the case where the rapist was later found to have been innocent? Vigilante justice is not always right, I think the justice system should be allowed to run its course and come to a conclusion and punishment.
Flashbangs have been used in no-knock warrants before, injuring young children who were unfortunately nearby. I think that more stricter regulations need to be enforced on its use.
In my opinion the death penalty or life imprisonment without parole are both acceptable. The latter can be considered to be as harsh a punishment by stripping her of all her freedom for the rest of her life.
That man was probably high when he made the call. While it's not clear whether his wife stole his cocaine or was just keeping it away from him for his sake, I hope that she does not get punished or charged if it is the latter.
I had to re-read that a few times! It's certainly one of the most weird thefts that I've heard of. Something tells me that the thief might be some sort of pervert who did this for gratification instead of money. After all, who would want to buy second-hand panties?
It's hard not to attribute a casual link when the change in crime is so evident. I think it goes to show that there is bureaucratic inefficiency and possibly corruption in a state-run police force.
I think it should wait until the child is at least twelve. Not only are young children with smartphones susceptible to robbery, spending their time glued to the screen from a younger age might affect their cognitive/social development and their eyesight. As parents should generally be keeping a...
I think this highlights the importance of education and wiping out backward, barbaric beliefs. It is great that these witch doctors were arrested but it is not unreasonable to think that there are more of them lurking out there.
Wow this is purely messed up. Perhaps the screening process for educators needs to be more stringent. In any case I hope this man gets life imprisonment.
Guns should be kept under lock and key, inaccesible to children. Also it should always be treated as loaded. Children must be told from young to stay away from guns and alert an adult they trust when they come across one unattended.
Honestly it's pretty common sense, and it saddens me to know...
I think that police can help with perimeter security and other general things in the event of a terrorist attack, but they should leave the main anti-terror operations to specialized military units.
As stated, bribery/favoritism is frowned upon when it comes to the law, and the personnel involved in upholding it. While you have good intentions in offering food it could be viewed in a negative light by many onlookers. I think the best way to show gratitude to your local police is by being...
I'm not good at writing fiction at all, I'm more inclined towards writing non-fiction articles and essays. Hopefully someday I can contribute some forum articles to my local newspaper and they are accepted for publication!
Harrassment is much more prevalent in a male-dominated profession like the police. I think that the police director deserves to be punished, the female officer did the right thing in bravely pressing charges against her boss.
It's pretty commonsense to take down the details of the seller, in case of any disputes or problems. If someone wants to sell you something for cheap but refuses to divulge any contact details or personal information you have every right to refuse the sale. As always if it's too good to be true...
I'm hardly surprised that people in positions of wealth and power are exploiting minors. It's great that this scoundrel was caught but there's probably many more people like him getting away scot-free.
This is really saddening news. I think that a proper psychiatric assessment, and counselling while in prison, should be given to such criminals so that they are actually given the opportunity to change instead of just doing time. If they are deemed as mentally unsound harsher treatment or...
