Find a police department that has a ride-along program and see if it's for you. Get an education because most departments are requiring a degree of some sort.

Having a bachelor's in CJ won't help you that much. Agencies have a huge amount of applicants holding a CJ degree. If it was me I would get a degree in something else, maybe computer science, accounting, or even a foreign language.

Keep your hands on the steering wheel and inform the officer when he walks up to the door, and follow instructions from there.

In my department there are 40 police officers, 7 have prior military experience.

It will show up on your driving record, but you will get no points for it.

They will probably will set a fine and give you time to pay. However, failure to appear is a criminal offense which could put you in jail.
