Why do cops ask certain questions?

I really think that cops have mastered the art of leading. Basically, they are fully aware of the situation before they even step to you. They basically want to see if you are going to lie to them or not (for the most part, people WILL lie). So, for the most part they are asking question that...

Do you see an increase of police activity on New Years Eve?

I would think that there would be an increase in police activity on New Year's Eve. People in a large groups (most of them are drunk or on some other drugs) need a little bit more monitoring. Also, in a post-911 world, people need to be prepared for attacks, and it's believed that New Year's Eve...

    What do you fear?

I think that if I were a police office, I would definitely be afraid of making a mistake that I wouldn't be able to come back from (mainly shooting someone that was defenseless, or just the wrong guy straight up). I think this is a fear that cops face constantly today, and it know it's a mistake...

Pulling a gun on people -- what was that rumor? Or that law?

I hope that that is a joke because that sounds like something I would expect to see in an action movie. Cops are already pretty reckless as it is, there's no sense in telling them to be even more reckless. I don't think that this is a good idea at all, and I hope that it is just a rumor.

Do you prefer to work out at the gym or at home?

I usually wake up and start doing some push-ups and sit-ups. It's something that has become quite routine for me, so I'm going to go with working out at home. I will say that a gym has a lot more things that I don't have at home, but there's just something about me not having to go out of my way...

What should happen to people who attack our senior citizens?

I think that people who attack senior citizens should be thrown in jail like anybody else. Of course, it could also depend on the situation. Maybe the senior citizen initiated the attack in a way that made the other person fearful for their life. I would hope that those are rare instances, but...

Filing a complaint on an officer

I have never filed a complaint, it always seemed pretty pointless to me. For the most part, I believe that the officers will side with fellow officers. They will take the officer's side of the story over your side any day of the week. The only way your story will have even the slightest amount...

How long have you stayed in your current job position?

I have never been able to stay at a certain position for very long. I think it's mainly because subconsciously I know it's not what I REALLY want to be doing for a living. I had my last job for the longest of all my jobs, and that was only seven months. My job before that was about four or five.

Have there been many officers killed in the line of duty in your town?

I just moved so I haven't really heard about any cops getting killed. I know that my area isn't exactly the safest, and cops are constantly patrolling. I know things are pretty crazy in New York (where I use to live). Cops are getting killed for no reason around there. It really makes you...

Do you believe your local police earn their paychecks?

Well, technically they do. They clock in and out of work everyday like anyone else with a job. As long as they do their hours on the clock then they should get paid. If you mean "earn" as in cleaning up the street that they are suppose to protect then I would say that they can do a better job. I...

Are police officers allowed to look up family members?

I wouldn't say that they are ALLOWED to do it but I don't see why they wouldn't, especially if they were genuinely curious. If you're not in the system then I think that you will be OK.

Elgin police testing cameras on helmet, body

This is really great to hear. I hope that more places take up full body and helmet cameras as well. I think it will give the more incentive to not only take less lethal methods. I think that it will shed light on a lot of things in general.

    Police Chief Shots Wife

This is such a sad thing to hear. I don't really know what the frame of mind was of the police chief but I'm pretty sure he knows what happens when you shot someone. I think that he should be trailed to the fullest extent of the law, being that he is suppose to uphold it and know it extremely well.

The worst experience you've had with a cop?

There was one time that I was in bookings and I was there with a meth addict overnight. He was suffering from withdrawal (which I didn't really know at the time) and was shaking and going crazy. All the cops were telling him to shut up and how they didn't believe that he was serious as the...

Why do many police forces around the world not carry guns?

I think that carrying a gun really gives off a sense of fear(not that the officer is scared, but that they want people to be afraid of them) even though that may not be the case exactly. The officers are there to protect and serve, not protect, serve, and intimidate. I mean, I'm an American too...

Are female cops treated with the same respect?

I would think that female police officers are treated equally. I don't think that gender is something that should come into question. A cops should always get the same respect, weather it's male or female. I think if you asking if they are respected in terms of getting hit on or things like...

What are you doing right now?

I'm actually thinking about what I'm going to eat right now. I'm also browsing around this forum, as well as checking my email.

Do Mall Cops have the same power as regular cops?

I don't think that mall cops have the same power as regular cops. For the most part, I think that they are just security guards. The thing is, they let the small amount of power that they DO have go to their heads, or at least that's how the stereotype goes.

Do you think People should be entitled to Carry Concealed Weapons

I think civilians carrying concealed weapons would be a horrible idea. Crime would not only go up, but the streets would pretty much be lawless (no pun intended). It's already against the law and so many people carry weapons, one can only imagine what it would be like if people were given the...
