We all break the law. Let's make some resolution for 2015.

I got a ticket for jaywalking last year (I mean, relatively early last year). It was so surprising because I definitely felt like I was being singled out. I was also walking so fast that the cops had to grab me, which was even more scary. I truly think if cops are wasting their time busting...

    Hello From LI, NY

Happy New Year! I lived in New York my whole life but I recently moved to New Jersey. I'm just a PATH train ride away but I feel so far from my city. I would imagine living in LI is pretty similar. Well, I'm sure you'll enjoy the forum as much as I do. It always gets pretty interesting.

This is pretty cool. I feel as though I'm a pretty consistent contributor to the forum, so hopefully I'll have that gift certificate in my hands by February.

    Spirituality and crime

I highly believe that positivity breeds positivity and vice versa, but I also believe that the problem is way bigger that just faith. I don't think it's a matter of Jesus or not, I just think that it's a matter of some people not being exposed to the same positivity that others might have. Maybe...

Any habits that you'd like to give up before 2015?

I have a habit of brushing people off and not giving it a second thought. In 2015 I plan on being more attentive to what's going on around me, being more confident, and just overall loving life. I think giving people the benefit of the doubt from time to time will also help as well.

    Death Penalty

I think the death penalty is a bit extreme in most cases. I think everyone should have the chance to either prove their innocence or rot in jail. I really don't understand the logic behind killing someone because what they did was so bad. It would only bring temporary peace at best. I think...

How much downtime do officers have on their shift?

I wouldn't think that they have that much ACTUAL downtime. I think that downtime comes in the form of walking around the city during patrol, or even when they are just standing around. Don't get me wrong, I DO think that they are alert and attentive. Although, when you get really good at paying...

Have You Ever Seen Someone Do Something Incredibly Stupid In Front Of A Cop?

I saw guy whip out his thing and start peeing in front of cops before. It was actually really funny, and I'm not too sure if he knew they were right next to him. I think it was more of a case of a person not being aware of their surrounding more than anything. That didn't make it any less funny.

    Seatbelt Law Question

Wow, I never knew you could really get that technical with it. I thought as long as you were strapped in in one way or another then you really didn't have anything to worry about. I also didn't know that seatbelt laws differ from state to state.

    Question About Pepper Spray

Honestly, if they were breaking in to my house then I wouldn't even warn them before pepper spraying them. I think they pretty much lose that right once they break into your house. If you have someone in your house that is making you a bit uncomfortable then I think that you should probably warn...

    Police and Music Festivals

Are police officers more lenient at music festivals? I mean, it's not like they DON'T know the kind of things that are going down at these things. I rarely hear of someone getting arrested at music festivals. How often does it happen?

    Calls 911 for a Date

This is freaking hilarious! Why would anyone even think of doing that. I would love to see this story re-enacted in a skit somewhere. It would be pretty funny.

    Text harassment

I think that you should get the texts documented and see if you can do anything about it. If you tell the authorities about it I'm sure that they will not take it lightly. You are generally scared, and you have already told the person to stop. Going to the authorities is the logical thing to do.

How often is a cell phone mistaken for a gun?

Honestly, I think the two things are mistaken for each other too often. I think that cops are really nervous when encountering someone that they consider "hostile" and they will react to anything that is black. Wallets are also another popular choice when you are talking about things that are...

Samuel L Jackson Boycott this BUM

I don't understand exactly what your asking. Should he just say speak out against all cops even though it's just a few that are in the wrong? Did he do something that got you upset? I think we need more info.

Video: Ferguson protesters flip police car outside city hall

It's so sad that all of this is going on, but at the same time I am so tired of hearing about it. It seems like the media has already had their way with this and has turned it into another on of their many sideshows. The people involved aren't doing themselves any favors either.

Crime in progress. Could you make the arrest?

I don't see why they wouldn't get involved. I think that there is a certain level of fear but if I were a cop, properly armed, and able to handle the situation then I would definitely intervene. I know that this is real life and not a movie and there is a chance that I may get hurt, but I think...

    What is citizen's arrest?

I always thought citizen's arrest was when a person that is not associated with law enforcement in any way helps or takes down a criminal of some sort. I think that it also applies when a citizen helps with a clue or a tips that was integral in taking down a criminal.

Do you you think police rape ladies when arresting them?

As far as the states are concerned, I don't think that a lot of women are raped. I DO think that women may be intentional groped when being searched. I even think that some women may use their sex appeal to get out of situations, and their are probably many police officers that take them up on...
