I don't know all the details of this situation, but for this woman to say these type of things, there must have been some serious animosity towards the police. But it's still not right and an officer did lose his life.

Bottom line, this was a complete violation of NYC Police policy. I am sure the officer was taught in the police academy not to choke people during an arrest. Truthfully he should have been fired just based on that. What I see here is a murder. The man said he could NOT breathe several times...

Officers must have a thorough knowledge of the laws involving civilians and their rights. This officer must be held accountable for his actions. He should be reprimanded for his mistakes and be made aware of the laws concerning this.
