I was wondering what everyone assumed would be the next move in police weaponry? It would be interesting to hear what people assume is on the horizon given the atmosphere today. It's a difficult time to ask for change when what we already have is under scrutiny.
If you're unaware of what I'm referring to click here. We'll wait...
Here's an interview with Anderson Cooper involving both the mother AND her son:

So, mother sees people rioting on television & realizes one of these children is her son. This is what is the result of finding said son throwing rocks upon her arrival to the area:

Can you imagine if more parents were doing this in Baltimore?
I know we are seeing a lot of these police officer videos thanks to the body cameras but this one really cheesed me off. He jumps the fence & goes onto property that he clearly should not have & ends up shooting a dog protecting their property. Frustrating...
So I read this today but the video is what gave me pause:

I'm unsure of how I feel about this one. I don't feel bad for the guy insofar as he was hit in order to stop him from endangering other but it IS likely he has mental issues that need to be...
We've all seen the videos showing situations an officer can regret but when is shooting someone justified? What does it take in a video to prove the officer is not at fault? It seems really easy to prove them at fault. I want to know the counter to that argument.
This type of thing frustrates me.
I have a hard enough time trying to find a place outside in Chicago for my son & my godson to play basketball. They both own their own because of this. The Chicago parks have taken down most of their rims from the basketball courts (in certain neighbourhoods of...
In America it seems to be that attention has been focused on citizens being arrested due to race & not crime. If not arrested than assaulted or unfairly questioned. While some of these situations are clearly wrong, some may have nothing to do with what the person claimed occurred. Do you think...
I'm curious how often officers are threatened on the job. You would think that being in uniform would dissuade people from doing that but I've seen otherwise. So, how often are police threatened with legal consequences or physical violence?
As far as my experience is concerned, if I drop off cookies to my local fire department they are nothing but sunshine & hot smiles about trying them. However, when I try to drop off cookies to my local police department, if I don't know the intake officer (or someone in earshot of the exchange)...
I was curious if there is a specific place to look into obtaining this information. Also, is it different in each state? Are there things that may disqualify you in Florida that would not in New York? I'm also curious if there is a time frame associated with these disqualifications. Like if you...
I was wondering who, in this forum, is a police officer? Would you be willing to disclose where? It does not have to be specific. I suppose what I am looking for is whether it is a big city or small town. Mostly because I am curious about the difference in trying to uphold the law in both. Has...
Is anyone aware of whether or not you can become a police officer if you suffer from Type I? I know that there are police officers on the force with Type II, but have yet to meet someone who has Type I. Anyone?
Let me preempt this by saying it is quite genuine and not meant to be taken sarcastically or in a rude way. I was curious if the stigma might hold you back from buying a doughnut in uniform? I'm not sure it's necessarily a negative view that this projects but I suppose it would be associated...
Hey,
I have to say I am thoroughly impressed with this site/forum. A good friend of mine is a police officer and I always go to him for legal questions. I'm betting he'll be super happy I have somewhere else to go now.
