An Austin police motorcycle officer was injured in a crash in North Austin on Thursday morning while escorting a funeral procession.
The the officer was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge. Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo said Friday morning that the officer had taken a turn for the worse. He was in critical condition and is now in dire need of blood.
When the word came out about the wounded police officer in need of blood, his colleagues and friends came out.
