I graduated with a BA in Criminal Justice and I'm looking for a career as a Police Officer. I have been working my current full time job for over two years. I don't have any felony or misdemeanor arrests or convictions. The only negative thing I have from my past is with an exgirlfriend. About three years ago she got upset with me and started to argue and hit me. I was backed into a corner and couldn't get away. I hit her to make her stop. I've never done that before and I haven't since. It truly was the only time I did that. After that we broke up. She didn't call the police, so there isn't any record of it. I'm afraid that this action could disqualify me. Several people told me I shouldn't even put it in my packet since no police were called and there isn't a report so it never happened. I feel that that is the wrong decision and plan to include it. Do I disclose this information?
