bad credit

I'm would love to become a police officer one day. I do have some issues that can be a problem for me. I have a misdemeanor on my record for a couple bounce checks. I also have some issues with my credit, that I'm currently working to make it better. Will this hurt my chances of becoming an officer?

I would have to say yes. I would pay the bounced checks off, if you haven't already. You have to take care of your credit issue. Fix it up and wait a couple of years, then try getting into LE. Good luck.
