Baltimore Station Evacuated After Bomb Scare

Baltimore police are investigating a bomb scare at WBFF-TV television station. The incident happened around 1 p.m. today. Authorities say the station has been evacuated.

The suspect who threatened to "blow up" the TV station was shot by a police sniper before he could carry out the alleged threat.

According to a Baltimore police spokesman, the suspect was still alive and lying in front of station.


"He had some type of device in his hand," said T.J. Smith. "We are using a robot to approach him.....He still poses a threat and that puts everyone in danger."

News director Mike Tomko wrote on the station's website the man was wearing a white, one piece panda suit with a surgical mask and sunglasses.


"He had a flash drive, said he had information he wanted to get on the air. He compared it to the information found in the Panama Papers," Tomko said, He added, "Apparently he had made some threats before."

Authorities held a news conference and said they sent a robot to check on the suspect. They described him as in his twenties. However, they had no other information yet his identify.
