WATERTOWN, Mass. Massachusetts State Police told reporters the two brothers suspected in the Boston Marathon bombings spent the night in a Honda CRV before they carjacked a Mercedes SUV.
The two suspects then split up, one of the brothers drove away in the CRV and the other took off in the Mercedes, police said. Authorities said that one of the brothers stayed with the carjacking victim for a couple of minutes and then let the person go.
Police say the one suspect dumped the CRV and then reunited with his brother in the Mercedes. The suspects were both in the Mercedes when they encountered police and threw explosives at the police officers, authorities told reporters.
Twenty six year old suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed. Nineteen year old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is still on the loose.
