The father of Elizabeth Thomas, 15, whom authorities believe was abducted by her former teacher, spoke to the media and pleaded for his daughter to "come home to us."
“We are going to get her back. We are going to get her back. Please help us bring her home.”
It has been over a week since Elizabeth was reported missing. Tennessee police are still searching for the young girl who authorities believe was abducted by her 50-year-old teacher.
Tad Cummins is accused of kidnapping Elizabeth last Monday, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
According to officials, Cummins was investigated by the school after a student told a teacher about seeing him kiss Elizabeth, the lawyer for the missing girl's family said.
They said that Cummins "may have been abusing his role as a teacher to groom the teen, in an effort to lure and potentially sexually exploit her."
Cummins was fired a day after the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued an Amber Alert about the fifteen-year-old girl.
