Louisiana sheriff's deputy, David F. Michel Jr. died of gunshot wounds on Wednesday.

Deputy David F. Michel Jr. was shot three times in the back by a man he had stopped in a suburb of New Orleans, sheriff's spokesman John Fortunato said. He was taken to University Hospital in New Orleans, where he later died

Fortunato said 19-year-old suspect Jerman Neveaux, faces four charges including first-degree murder.

Deputy David F. Michel Jr. had been with the sheriff's office since 2007, he leaves behind a wife.
