It is with heaviest of hearts that we announce that Deputy Jacob Calvin passed away in a car crash while responding to a previous crash at State Road 28 and County Road 500 west on Saturday evening. Deputy Calvin was 31 years old and a member of the Tipton Police Department.
The Indiana State Police investigators said that Deputy Jacob Calvin was traveling at a high rate of speed with his emergency lights and sirens on when his car rolled over around 10 PM.
Calvin's vehicle rolled several times after leaving the road way and his body was ejected. Reports are that Calvin was not wearing his seatbelt.
