Deputy Sheriff Curtis Allen Bartlett

Deputy Sheriff Curtis Allen Bartlett was killed in the line of duty following a crash late Thursday, March 9, 2017.

Bartlett was responding to ongoing pursuit in Carroll County when the crash that involved a tractor-trailer occurred.

Deputy Bartlett, 32, was with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office for three and half years. He also served a year as a patrol officer in Albemarle, N.C. He served his country as an infantry soldier with the U.S. Army from November 2004 to July 2007.

He survived by his parents, Sam and Linda Bartlett, and four siblings.
