Do You Ask Drivers if They Have a Concealed Carry Permit

I have heard that cops are getting more involved with questioning lately. "Do you have a concealed carry permit?" Is this a question that is asked by a police officer when the person is just being pulled over for a minor traffic violation? I think if the questions start getting too in depth I would just exercise my right to remain silent. Sometimes I feel like the more you say, the more trouble you will get into. I am interested to know how police officers feel on this subject? Are you required to ask it or do some officers simply ask the question out of curiosity? If you are required to ask it, do you think it is an invasion of privacy?

I've had an officer ask me & I've told them the truth: Yes. Yes, I do. It's not an issue for me because I'm not a criminal so I have nothing to be concerned about. However, it could be worse.
