A shooting at a UPS warehouse in Alabama left three people dead, including the gunman, authorities said.
The incident started about 9:20 a.m. Tuesday when the disgruntled former employee who was wearing his UPS uniform entered the Birmingham warehouse and began shooting, police said.
Police were called to the scene however by the time they arrived, the suspect had apparently committed suicide, Birmingham Police Chief AC Roper said.
"When the officers arrived in the parking lot and made entry, the incident in all respect was already over," Roper said.
The identities of the two victims are not being released until their family members are notified.
The gunman, has not been publicly identified yet. Police would only say he is a 45-year-old white male and had reportedly been fired Monday from the company.
Police said all three bodies were found in the warehouse close to the building’s offices.
"It is extremely troubling for the city, for the families involved. When they came to work today they had no idea it would be their last day alive on earth. They were just people working at their jobs," said Roper.
