BI Director Vernon Kennan made a direct appeal Wednesday night to the gunman accused of killing an Americus officer and wounding a university police officer earlier in the day. Kennan implored 32-year-old Minquell Kennedy Lembrick to call 911 and arrange to turn himself into police citing "enough violence has occurred today." The personal plea comes after a day of active searching for the gunman and the raising of over $30,000 for his capture.
