There has been a few times when I am driving to work, I see deer that had been recently hit and dead (thank Goodness) on the side of the rode. Is it required that the police notify proper authorities to dispose of the poor animal's remains? I ask because I have seen deer lay on the road for weeks and no one has removed it. I know police travel road, so I do not understand why they haven't call someone to take care it.

People rarely report it. Either because they assumed someone else did or they don't feel it's their job. It's actual the job of anyone who sees it to report it. You should call the animal control in your area & they'll contact someone who can pick the deer up.
