Law enforcement officers nationwide are being honored Friday for their sacrifices as part of a National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

After recent horrific incidents towards police across the country, January 9th is designed for the public to bring recognition to the police officers who risk their lives every day.

Citizens who are looking to recognize Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, can wear blue clothing, send a thank you card to local police, shine a blue light at home, or simply if you see a police officer, just thank them for their strenuous work.

This seems like a good way to boost police morale which, let's face it, must be pretty low right now.

This is interesting, first time I've heard of this. Most people I know to show appreciation they wear a baseball hat with the logo. NYPD. They'll wear it more than one day out of the year though.

I agree, nothing like bringing forward all the people that indeed have appreciation to show and start turning this situation around.
