Chief Steve Conrad released a body camera video of the Saturday night fatal shooting in Louisville, KY.
In the video, you can hear the officers screaming “police” a few times before going up the stairs where William Young Jr. was hiding out.
You can see the suspect, Young, holding a long metal pipe and lunging several times at the officers.
“To me, it looked like a meat skewer or some sort. It appeared to have a wooden handle. And the metal portion of the instrument was 12 inches long. It is very narrow and is pointed at the end,” Chief Conrad said.
The three Louisville Metro police officers are on administrative leave after the officer-involved shooting.
