Macon County deputy passes out gift cards on final patrol

Macon County sheriff's deputy Mark Rade, a 25-year veteran of the sheriff's office, who retired on Thursday handed out gift cards to some of the Macon County residents.

It's just a good way to go out, deputy Mark Rade said. It's good to see the smiles on people's faces.

That was nice, and I'm sure the people enjoyed his gift. He seems like a good person, and the community probably gave him a lot of respect.

I think that's a nice thought. But wait, to SOME of the residents? If it's not to all of them, isn't it just the same as giving gifts to people who are his friends and not about giving gifts to everyone who worked with him?

I mean, still nice and it probably made people feel good. I just wonder about the "some of".
