A Nashville man who posted numerous threats against police officers in social media posts and text messages has pleaded guilty to threatening them.

22-year old Robert Ellis Waddey has been indicted by a federal grand jury in February. Ellis, who pleaded guilty to his charges on Friday can face up to five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

Authorities said Waddey posted a picture on Instagram in September 2015 showing a gun pointed at a Tennessee Highway Patrol car. The picture's caption had stated, "F*** them non attentive hoes."

He also sent a video of himself to a friend showing him shooting a high-capacity style assault rifle in a couple of positions "as if he were training for combat" and a text that stated, "Police won’t even know what to think lololololololol."

Another image had a uniformed officer bleeding from his head, with a text saying "only a dead cop is a good cop."

"The evidence is clear that this was a threat, and it was intended as a threat, and the defendant pleading guilty has admitted as much," Acting U.S. Attorney Jack Smith said.

His sentencing is scheduled for October 16.
