A Michigan man whose sentence was commuted by President Obama has been killed.

Demarlon Thomas, whose drug-related prison sentence had been commuted by former President Obama, was shot and killed Monday at a federal halfway house.

Authorities say Thomas was killed by a man with an assault-style rifle in Saginaw, Michigan. They said two masked men with assault-style rifles walked into the facility where over twenty people were staying.

"One person watched over a group of them while another subject located the victim and executed him,” said Michigan State Police Lt. David Kaiser.

Police reported no one else was injured in the attack.
