Michael Winter has died from his injuries

Branch County Sheriff’s Office reported Deputy Michael Winter has died from his injuries while he was on parade detail.

During the Memorial Day parade, Winter's horse was spooked by a noise and he was bucked off his horse and hit his head.

Deputy Winter was transported to a hospital for treatment. He died from his injuries Tuesday afternoon. He was 39 years old. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Winter’s organs will be donated.
