CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Massachusetts Institute of Technology Police Officer, Sean Collier, has been shot and killed.
Police Officer Collier, 26 year old, was allegedly shot by the two suspects in Monday's marathon bombings, authorities told reporters.
Officer Sean Collier was a Somerville resident, had been working at MIT since January 2012. Prior to that he was a civilian employee of the Somerville Police Department.
Collier was a dedicated officer who was well liked by his colleagues and the MIT community, MIT Police Chief John DiFava said.
It was reported that Officer Collier was shot several times while he was in his vehicle in Cambridge around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. He was pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital.
