If all gun owners were responsible, kept guns out of the reach of children, then we wouldn't be hearing anything about children shooting their parents.

At least this time round, no one died.
Albuquerque police say the toddler fired one shot hitting his father in the right buttock. The bullet went out of his hip and hit the woman, who is eight-months pregnant, in the arm.

I'm certain that from now on, they couple will lock up their guns.
 
Pregnant woman in the arm, dad in the bottock.... Wow, this could have ended so much more tragically even if it still had not killed them. Dad could have been shot in the genitals, mommy could have been shot in the womb... These people are irresponsible but so very lucky in the consequences they had to face!

And seriously "being responsible" should be a prerequisite to owning such a weapon.
 
Why, oh why do people not think to keep their firearms out of the reach of children? I've heard countless reports of children getting hold of their parents guns and killing someone with them. These two parents are lucky to be alive.

They quite obviously need a lesson in both responsible gun ownership and parenting.
 
Such cases are on the rise and my sincere hope is that strict gun control measures should be enacted as a matter of urgency.There are too much guns in the hands of reckless people and something needs to be done about it.Who in his/her right mind would let a toddler handle a firearm? This is just insane.

Well, if that was not a strong enough lesson (for this couple), then I'm not sure what would be.
But it is true enough that it seems to happen a lot. It's incredible that they can still own guns when they obviously show how irresponsible they are with it.
 
These are the type of people who don't deserve to have kids if they can't even know simple rules of gun safety and etiquette. They're obviously shady people for even being involved with guns just laying around.
 
We've obviously got to get these kids out to the firing range at an earlier age so they can learn proper gun safety. If the toddler were exposed to guns more often it would eliminate the mystery and awe that surrounds the object and they wouldn't be so interested in playing with it.

Obviously I'm joking, but these are all arguments (replacing toddler with child) that I have heard from people on why we don't need tougher gun control laws.
 
Lucky they walked away with their lives. We hear to may of these stories that end tragical. Guns can be fired at a very young age so to think because it's just a toddler they won't be able to fire the weapon is just crazy. Lock those guns up parents.
