New York police officers lined the streets of the city to honor a slain officer as her body was taken from Bellevue hospital to a funeral home.
Officers saluted on the roads that lead from the hospital as police escorted the body of Miosotis Familia to the funeral home days after she was fatally shot while on duty.
Authorities stated that a surveillance camera shows when Alexander Bonds shot at officer Familia through the passenger side window of her police car.
The alleged shooter ran off. However, police officers caught up with Bonds about a block away and killed him when he pulled a stolen revolver, authorities said.
Police officers caught up with the suspect about a two blocks away. They killed him when he pulled out a stolen gun and pointed it towards the officers, authorities said.
