The hero cop who was attacked by a man with a meat cleaver was released from Bellevue Hospital.
New York Police Officer Donnell was off duty when he was allegedly attacked by 32-year-old Akram Joudeh of Queens.
Officer O’Donnell suffered from a six-inch-long scar on the left side of his face, which required seventy stitches.
Officer O’Donnell left the hospital surrounded by his family and dozens of New York officers.
I was just doing my job said Officer Brian ODonnell. I saw what was happening, and I had to help my fellow officers and protect the public, said ODonnell. That is what I am paid to do.
The suspect, Joudeh, who was shot by police is currently in the hospital.
