St. Louis County police officer Blake Snyder, has died after being shot Thursday morning, October 6, 2016.
Officer Blake Snyder, 33, was responding to a disturbance call around 5:00 a.m. As he exited his patrol car, he was met with gunfire.
“Officer. Snyder, we believe at this point in the investigation, gave the suspect some commands because he couldn’t see his hands," said Officer Benjamin Granda. "The suspect produced a pistol and he shot Officer. Snyder point-blank. It was an immediately fatal wound.â€
A second officer was able to return fire and wounded a male suspect.
Officer Snyder was with the St. Louis County Police Department for four years.
He leaves behind a wife and a 2-year-old son.
