A Columbus Police Officer was hospitalized after he cut his mouth biting into a sandwich, which contained several shards of glass in it.
Authorities said when officer Nguyen took a bite into his sandwich he felt a disturbing texture, as well as a crunching sound. When he searched inside the sandwich, he spotted the glass. He then checked his mouth, and noticed he was bleeding.
Officer Quoc Nguyen was transported to Grant Medical Center by his partner. Authorities say he underwent several tests, and was kept overnight. He was treated, released and said to be doing good, according to authorities.
The restaurant, Lincoln Cafe, has been shut down during the investigation. The manager said they are cooperating with Columbus Police and Columbus Public Health.
