Detroit police officer James Kisselburg shot in the line of duty speaks out.

Officer Kisselburg was hit by two bullets. One in the neck and one in the cheek. He spent three weeks in the hospital.

"I prayed just to please not let me die here," Kisselburg said. "I want to see my family once more."

Kisselburg and his partner, officer Ben Atkinson were on patrol in Southwest Detroit when they were shot by a man. Officer Atkinson was also shot, but his vest saved him, according to officials.

"I'd like to go back out there, but for the sake of my family, I won't," said officer Kisselburg. "I put them through a lot, and this one was probably the last one."

The suspect, Raymond Durham, 60, was arrested.
