DENVER. A man carrying a knife attempted a burglary from a garage close to the intersection of 8th Avenue and Pearl Street when the surprised homeowner caught him in the act.

He then took off and lead police on a four block chase through Capitol Hill that also included the property of the Governor's Mansion. The suspect ended up on a second floor balcony. About 15 minutes keeping police away from him with his knife, the officers convinced the suspect to give up.

Police authority said that security acted quickly and placed the entire Governor's residence in lockdown. At the time of the incident there was a group on tour, but were completely safe.

Police have not released his name or information yet.
