Police Cheif Michael Pimentel

Chief of Police Michael Pimentel was shot and killed after stopping a vehicle in a residential area near the intersection of South 1st Avenue and East 9th Street at approximately 11:30 am.

A struggle ensued during the stop and Chief Pimentel was shot multiple times. He was flown to University Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

Bexar County deputies responded to the scene and took the suspect into custody.

Chief Pimentel served in law enforcement for 43 years and had previously served as the police chief of the San Antonio Independent School District Police Department.

My god... A man's life for graffiti. This is absolutely terrible. It should be noted though that this doesn't really make people who do graffiti any worse. It just so happened that these people were clearly far, far worse human beings. It's crazy what people do for their own protection now. R.I.P.

Here's the side of the story that doesn't get sensationalized by the media. This is what police officers have nightmares about. It's a shame when unarmed people end up shot, but hesitation on the streets can get you killed if your a cop. May Chief Pimentel rest in peace. Condolences to his family and his department.
