A disturbing video seen on Facebook shows a Sacramento Police Officer tackling and hitting a man, Nandi Cain Jr., who was allegedly stopped for jaywalking.
The attempt by the officer to stop the man for allegedly jaywalking turned violent. When the man refused to comply, the police officer tackled him to the ground and punched him in the face a couple of times.
The incident began when the police officer attempted to stop Cain from jaywalking near an intersection around 5:00 p.m. Monday.
According to authorities, the two men then exchanged words and Cain began taking his jacket and challenged the police officer to a fight. The police officer charged Cain to take him into custody.
"The videos of this incident portray actions and behavior that we would consider unacceptable conduct by a Sacramento police officer," a statement released by the department. "As a result, the Department’s Internal Affairs Division is investigating the event."
